We created the Mend Collaborated to provide opportunities for healing and prevent future harm. Restorative Justice is designed to respond to survivor needs in ways that the traditional criminal legal system cannot.
Mend Collaborative's Days of Healing bring together survivors from the community with survivors who are incarcerated to accompany each other and gain support for their healing journeys. So many incarcerated people were victims/survivors before they created harm.
We believe ALL SURVIVORS should have opportunities for grieving, healing, and connecting with their community for support.
At our Days of Healing inside California prisons, we come together to listen deeply, to create art and poetry, to grieve, and to share about our loved ones.
